Accessibility Statement


Accessibility Statement (Erklärung zur digitalen Barrierefreiheit)

This accessibility statement applies to the website of the copan:LPJmL project hosted at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).

PIK strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the Brandenburg Disability Equality Act (BbgBGG) and the Brandenburg Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BbgBITV) in conjunction with the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

The basis for accessibility are the internationally valid Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at conformance level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, version 3.1.1. For PDF documents, the international PDF/UA standard is also observed.

Efforts to Support Accessibility

PIK takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Accessibility is integrated into our procurement practices
  • An accessibility officer is to be appointed
  • Continuous accessibility training is to be offered to employees
  • Regular testing and evaluation of our web presence

Despite our efforts, some problems may occur for users. Here is a description of known accessibility issues. Please contact us if you observe a problem that is not listed.

Videos:

  • Our videos currently do not have subtitles
  • No alternatives are offered for videos

PDF Documents:

  • Not all PDF documents meet accessibility requirements

Other Issues:

  • Alternatives for images and graphical elements are not fully available in all cases
  • Keyboard accessibility is not fully available for all elements/content
  • Words and sections in other languages are not marked

The enforcement agency according to § 4 Para. 3 BbgBITV has the task of settling disputes between people with disabilities and public bodies of the State of Brandenburg regarding IT accessibility. The enforcement procedure is free of charge. No legal representation is required.

The enforcement agency reviews the legal validity of the application from a content perspective and, in individual cases, orders a technical review of the website by the monitoring agency for accessibility of web and application technologies in the State of Brandenburg.
